Download Avast Antivirus
Avast Antivirus is Digital Red's recommended antivirus program. There are two versions: Avast Home and Avast Professional. The Home version is free for home PCs and non-commerial use.

The newest version of Avast is always available from the Avast website but if you install the versions here, your computer will automatically download the latest version after your reboot anyway.
If you have a virus on your PC now
If you know you have an infection, you should download the newest version straight away - go here for the Home version and here for the Professional version. You should also download the immediate updates from this page too. Once installed, follow the instructions for a boot time scan. Ideally, disconnect your infected PC from the internet straight away and download these files from another PC.
Remember that you should only ever have one antivirus program installed - so if you have something like Norton Antivirus, McAfee, NOD or AVG installed you should uninstall them before you install Avast.
